- Anthropocene: How the interaction between human and natural activity affects the lake’s ecosystem?
- Testing and development: Is it possible to develop a universal prox(ies) that can be utilised to reconstruct past climatic conditions?
- Climate study: What are the dominant factors that determine changes in the frequency of extreme events during the present interglacial period (~11.5 cal ka)
- Seasonal monitoring of limnological parameters: How modern limnological parameters can help to characterised proxy behaviour in the lake basin.
Ongoing Project
- Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB)- Core Research Grant (SERB-CRG), Govt. of India sponsored project titled “Understand the proxy (in)coherence in lake basins from varied climatic regimes -implications for paleoclimate reconstruction" (55 lakh)
- DST-INSPIRE Faculty funded project: Lake sediments- a natural laboratory to study the past climate variability (35 lakh).
- Involved in HIMPAC (Himalaya: Past and Modern climate) project to understand the Late Quaternary climatic variability in the Indian summer monsoon domain.
